Kingston, ON (April 11, 2019) The United Way of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington will recognize workplace volunteers, who have helped make significant positive impacts on our community, at a luncheon on April 17, 2019. The luncheon takes place at the Ramada Kingston Hotel and Conference Centre and is sponsored by Bell and Diamond Hotels.
The event honours the achievements of workplace campaigns, which make up 70 per cent of the campaign dollars raised each year. The event will also recognize labour groups and local media partners.
“Volunteers are critical to the success of the campaign and we have over 2,000 local volunteers who engage at all levels of the United Way” says Bhavana Varma, President & CEO, United Way KFLA. “We are grateful to everyone who shares their time and talent with the United Way. The support in our community is incredible and this day is an opportunity to honour and recognize some of the volunteers who have helped make a difference in our community”.
The 2019 event will see several awards handed out including Participation Awards, Achievement Awards and Britton Smith Foundation Leadership Awards. Special Awards include Local Love Awards, Media Partners, Labour, Most Improved, and Special Recognition. Bell will also present the “Voice of Community Award” In memory of Greg Hinton.
