The Next Gen
United Way KFLA offers a new and exciting way for young professionals, future leaders, to get involved in our community. Who can be a part of Next Gen? Enthusiastic and energetic individuals who:
- Want to be the first to hear about the best events in the city.
- Want to be in the know about what’s going on in our community.
- Want to meet and be inspired by young philanthropists in our city.
- Want to get involved in our community, and are wondering where to start.
Next Gen empowers young leaders to support and increase the impact of the United Way in the local community. The Next Gen movement is a unique opportunity for the next generation to bring about change.
If you are a Next Genner, there are many ways for you to get involved. Next Gen volunteers organize and run several popular events each year including: Next Gen Masquerade (2019 tickets on sale now), Next Gen Pool Party and Next Gen Sociable. Some Next Gen volunteers also participate in United Way events like Day of Caring and the Seeing Is Believing bus tours.

Next Gen Ambassadors
The Next Gen Cabinet is creating a network of contacts known as ‘Next Gen Ambassadors’ to spread their message and ensure the next generation of leaders are engaged in their community. They participate in Next Gen activities and promote events and engagement opportunities within their workplaces.
This is a great opportunity for someone in the Next Gen demographic at a workplace to become an active member of a peer group, supporting the Next Gen’s efforts.
The Ambassador’s Role
The Ambassador’s role is to work with the Next Gen Chair of Workplace Engagement to develop and execute a strategy specifically tailored to your workplace, with the following objectives:
Increase awareness of the Next Gen and United Way message and presence in the community at a place of business; Provide information about events and network opportunities employees, and; Act as a point of contact between the United Way Next Gen and your employees in the Next Generation.
