Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Breakfast

Come and celebrate the power of volunteerism.  On Tuesday, April 17th, Craig Kielburger, founder of Free the Children and co-founder of Me to We, will be the key note speaker at United Way’s first annual Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Breakfast, being held at Davies Hall, St. Lawrence College, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Craig began volunteering in his home town of Thornhill, Ontario at the age of 12 and is a sought-after speaker who is known world round. The event will also recognize the accomplishments of some of our own community’s local volunteers. United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
