KINGSTON, ON / October 8, 2013 – United Way Leadership Development Services (LDS) is hosting a workshop on Best Practices in Charity Annual Reporting on Friday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Ongwanada, 191 Portsmouth Ave. This workshop is facilitated by Patrick Legresley, Associate Director, Finance, at the Queen’s School of Business.
“Annual Reports should provide stakeholders with a succinct description of an organization and its activities, including its purpose, objectives, financial information, achievements and future plans,” says Patrick Legresley. “Donors, funders and other interest groups expect this information to be transparent and accountable.”
In this workshop, participants will learn how to:
- optimize resources needed to produce an annual report
- maximize the quality of their organization’s information
- craft an annual report that can be used as a tool to promote their organization.
Discussion will cover lessons learned from the Voluntary Sector Reporting Awards (VSRA) and how these lessons can help improve an annual report. The workshop will also highlight the opportunity to enter agency reports in the Voluntary Sector Reporting Awards Program.
This workshop is limited to board members and staff at not-for-profit organizations.
