September 27, 2013
The United Way of KFLA campaign has raised $1.1 million in less than three weeks thanks to the hard work and support of volunteers and donors. This represents 34% of the $3,418,000 goal that was announced at the Campaign kick-off on Sept. 10, 2013.
Each year, thousands of volunteers, organizations, frontline agencies professional staff, and our media partners come together to raise funds for services that benefit their families, friends, and neighbours.
“Thank you to all of the volunteers and generous donors,” says United Way of KFLA President, Bhavana Varma. “There are nine weeks remaining in the campaign, it is important that people continue to get their pledges in to keep the thermometer moving up.”
Last year, United Way invested in 89 programs, all of which benefit people right here in our community.
