United Way KFL&A Receives Award for Financial Reporting Transparency at Voluntary Sector Reporting Awards 2011
The United Way serving Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington received an award on Friday, November 18th, at the Voluntary Sector Reporting Awards (VSRA’s) held in Toronto.
The VSRA’s recognize Ontario’s best charity annual reports. The awards, now in their fourth year, are open to registered charities that produce annual reports in Ontario and were created by the CA- Queen’s Centre for Governance in Partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, sponsored by PwC.
The United Way KFL&A was one of 17 finalists from across Ontario and one out of 5 winners. More than 100 charities were nominated. The United Way received an award in the category of Total revenues from over $1 million to $10 million and received a $5000 prize.

Established in 1941, United Way serving KFL&A has worked to strengthen lives by bringing together the financial resources of the community – business, labour, individuals and government – in support of a network of social service and health agencies. Through these agencies and their programs, people find help and in many cases, opportunity for a better life. Over 74,000 people in KFL&A received help last year from a United Way funded service.
