United Way KFL&A Campaign Reaches the $1 Million Mark
The United Way KFL&A campaign has raised $1,080,022 in just three weeks thanks to the hard work and support of volunteers and donors. This represents 32% of the $3.35 Million goal that was announced at the Campaign kick-off on Sept. 11, 2012.
Bhavana Varma, President & CEO, credits companies such as the Ministry of Transportation, Empire Life, Correctional Service Canada, Assurant Solutions and Kingston General Hospital for reporting their results early as well as direct mail and all of the great events that have been taking place across the community. “Many people in our community are counting on the success of this year’s campaign,” she says. “With just eight weeks to go, it is important that people get their pledges in.”
In 2011 United Way funded programs helped 85,000 people in our community.
