United Way Accepting Innovation Grant Applications
Agencies can apply for one-time funding
United Way serving Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) is accepting one-time Innovation Grant applications from area social service agencies. Innovation Grants, awarded every year, provide funding opportunities to agencies that do not receive annualized funding through the United Way.
“In addition to funding member agencies through our annual allocations process, United Way distributes grants to community agencies,” said United Way President & CEO, Bhavana Varma. “These grants allow United Way volunteers to learn about agencies and programs in the community.”
“We support a wide range of social service issues that enhance United Way’s ability to address pressing needs that affect the entire community,” said United Way Capacity Building Chair, Shelley Aylesworth-Spink. “All United Way funding is now being disbursed to programs that align with the goals and outcomes of community impact areas.” The three areas are Growing up Great, Turning Lives Around and Belonging to Community.
The deadline to submit an Innovation Grant application is Monday, June 6.
United Way, in its community building role, undertakes research to identify issues and local needs, developing solutions and action plans to address these needs.
