Community invited to “Town Gown in the Park”
The community is invited to attend “Town Gown in the Park,” a special event taking place in Confederation Park and Ontario Street on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21 to celebrate positive town-gown relations and community partners and offer information about City services.
As part of this event, the Queen’s Alma Mater Society is hosting a ball hockey tournament which will include a team made up of City staff members. Games will be played on Ontario Street on Saturday and Sunday.
You can support the local United Way by stopping by their booth and making a donation. The United Way of KFL&A will be on-site to promote “211,” an integrated social infrastructure that supports people in times of need.
Community information booths will be set up in Confederation Park between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. City services that will be on-site include Solid Waste, Culture, Transit, By-Law & Property Standards, and Recreation & Leisure. Other community partners that will be showing their support with information booths include Utilities Kingston, Kingston Fire & Rescue, Kingston Police and Queen’s University.
