For Immediate Release
Applications sought for Community Investment Fund grants
KINGSTON, ONT./Aug. 6, 2013 – Once again this year, United Way of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington and the City of Kingston are pleased to offer charities and not-for-profit organizations a single application process to access funding for local programs and projects through the Community Investment Fund.
The United Way and City have worked closely together to streamline the process for disbursing Community Investment Fund grants, reducing the work for organizations applying for grants.
Successfully introduced in 2011, the United Way administers the simplified granting process, eliminating duplication and aligning efforts with the funding priorities of both the United Way and City. United Way funding is available for programs that address emerging needs and issues in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington while City of Kingston’s funding provides support to programs and projects that fit the mandate of the Sustainable Kingston Plan objectives and are within the City’s boundaries.
The Community Investment Fund granting stream will disburse one-time grants to organizations that meet an identified need and goal in one of the following three Community Impact Areas:
- All That Kids Can Be: Growing Up Great
- Healthy People, Strong Communities: Turning Lives Around
- From Poverty to Possibility: Belonging to Community
Applications for grants of up to $25,000 will be accepted until Sept. 12, 2013.
