United Front: Kingston Frontenacs, Scotiabank join forces with United Way KFL&A to help strengthen community

Kingston, ON (August 31, 2023) – The Kingston Frontenacs, Scotiabank and United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington are pleased to announce a partnership that hopes to make a positive impact on the community. All three organisations share a commitment to fostering social change and promoting community wellbeing and, through this collaboration, they hope to inspire others in the community as well.

The United Way KFL&A, Scotiabank and the Kingston Frontenacs will be launching this new partnership, titled “United Front” during the Kingston Frontenacs 2023-24 home opener at Leon’s Centre.

The Kingston Frontenacs home-opener takes place on Friday, September 29th. Volunteers and staff from all three organizations will be on site to help raise funds and awareness about United Way, the ongoing fundraising campaign and how your donations can make an impact. Look for more details closer to the date.

The partnership builds on the Kingston Frontenacs commitment to giving back to the community through various programs including supporting the United Way KFL&A’s community donation drives like the Backpack Program and Winter Clothing Drive.

“This partnership aligns with the Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club’s values and the team’s goals of bringing the community together,” said Nicole Kemp, Assistant Vice President, Business Operations. “We believe this partnership can provide a positive impact to the Kingston community, while also supporting incentives that help those in need. We are excited to work hand-in-hand with two dedicated partners in the United Way KFL&A and Scotiabank and we can’t wait to get started”.

“Thank you to the Kingston Frontenacs and Scotiabank for this United Front partnership and helping to raise awareness and funds for United Way KFL&A.” said Colonel Sonny Hatton, 2023 United Way Campaign Chair. “I have witnessed firsthand the generosity of this caring community and I know that we are stronger together. This partnership works to bring that message to even more community members and shows that they can make a difference locally in the lives of their friends, family, neighbours and colleagues.”

Scotiabank, the official sponsor of the 2023-24 Kingston Frontenacs season, is also excited about the collaboration and an opportunity to make an impact locally.

“Scotiabank is committed to being a force for good and a force for growth across our footprint. We look forward to working with both the Kingston Frontenacs and the United Way in the upcoming season by providing ongoing support and advice throughout our community” said Brett Patterson, Scotiabank Branch Manager Kingston Financial Centre.
By joining forces with the United Way KFL&A, both groups hope to help raise funds and awareness for the valuable programs and services funded by the United Way KFL&A.
