With just over a month to go, the United Way KFL&A campaign has reached another milestone – less than $1 million left to get to this year’s goal! A big shout out and thank you again to the incredible KFL&A community for the amazing progress towards this year’s community fundraising goal.

Winter Clothing Drive

The Winter Clothing Drive is officially underway with items coming in each day. Special thanks to our partners at Kingston Frontenac Public Library and Lennox and Addington Public Libraries for offering their space for collection and thanks to the teams at Lionhearts, Martha’s Table and St. Vincent de Paul picking up at these locations throughout the drive. Also, thanks to the Rotary Club in Kingston for helping recruit volunteers to sort as items come in.

Workplaces and community members are asked to donate clean, new or gently used coats and boots (coats must be washable only; no leather or heavy wool) and new accessories including new hatsmittsscarves and socks. Items can be dropped off to collection bins throughout KFL&A from October 25 – November 5.

Novelis Neighbour

Since 2012, Novelis employees have worked with United Way KFL&A to undertake a wide variety of projects during their annual Novelis Neighbor Week. This year, Novelis volunteers will help Lionhearts with a maintenance and preparation project, scraping, pressure washing and painting steel racking. This project will help with the Community Food Redistribution Warehouse project that is moving forward. The project will be key to ensure that the warehouse space has the equipment necessary to receive and distribute food donations safely and efficiently.

Thank you to the amazing team at Novelis for the continued #locallove and support
