Homelessness Point in Time Count

United Way KFL&A, in partnership with the Government of Canada’s Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy, leads the local Point-in-Time (PiT) Count — a census that captures the number of individuals experiencing homelessness on a specific night. As part of the process, individuals encountered are also invited to complete a short, anonymous survey. Kingston is one of 74 communities across Canada that participated in the 2024 PIT count. Community Homelessness Report

The Community Homelessness Report (CHR) is an annual Reaching Home report that pulls together information about homelessness currently available at the community level, including governance, collaboration and outcomes, to help communities self-assess their progress in meeting reduction goals.

Community Profiles

Community Profiles is part of an ongoing effort to provide population-level data that highlights key factors influencing the health and development of children and youth across 11 distinct planning areas. The report was first produced in hard copy in 2005; subsequent editions were produced in 2010, 2015, 2020 and the most recent edition, 2025, includes a new interactive portal with custom dashboards, digital maps and open data sources – which will be updated as new data becomes available.
