The Issues – what we know
Here are some examples of the challenges individuals in KFL&A are facing. With your support, agencies and programs can work to address these issues:
- 7 out of 10 Canadian youth aged 12-17 have been bullied in the past year
- 3 in 10 parents and guardians cannot afford for their kids to participate in after-school programs and activities
- 33% of food bank users in Canada are children representing over 700,000 visits each month
- 61% of youth aged 12-24 accessed at least one mental health and/or substance use service in the last year
Your Impact
“Youth Diversion is full of supports that have had an amazing impact on my life. They gave me a support system where no issue was too small or big. Youth Diversion showed me all the directions I could take when I felt lost, but always let me choose the direction I would go. No matter how many times I fell down I always had people checking in on me and who never stopped believing. They gave me a push when I needed it and are constantly helping me to get where I want to be.”
