Refugee Relief

City of Kingston, and United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington, working in partnership with Kingston Community Health Centres, KEYS, Community Foundation of Kingston & Area, County of Frontenac, County of Lennox & Addington, have set up a special emergency fund to support refugee resettlement in our community.

At this time no in-kind donations of food, clothing or furniture are being accepted.

The United Way will administer this fund with no administrative fee.  An advisory refugee coordinating committee will oversee the distribution of the funds collected to assist local initiatives.

Applications for Funding

Funding applications are now available and can be downloaded here:

  • A volunteer committee meets regularly to review applications to the fund.
  • Applications are due by the following dates:  January 15, April 15, July 15, October 15

Material Donations

 

Please note, material donations are currently not being accepted for refugees. Whig Standard article.  However, there are a number of shelters and agencies locally that would welcome material donations:

Kingston Youth Shelter
Outreach St. George’s
