Annual Day of Caring takes place on June 6th, 2025
KINGSTON, ON (June 5th, 2025) –United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington’s annual Day of Caring takes place on Friday, June 6th. Thanks to Platinum sponsor, TD, this year, over 400 volunteers from 28 workplaces will be tackling projects at 38 local agencies throughout KFL&A.
United Way Day of Caring sends volunteer teams from local organizations to provide much needed assistance to local agencies through projects. These include repair work, gardening, painting, and cleaning. The day is organized by a volunteer committee that has been hard at work for months, identifying projects, recruiting teams, organizing equipment and materials.
“We are excited for another amazing Day of Caring! The volunteer response has been incredible again this year, with over 400 individuals eager to take part,” says Kim Peachey, Chair of the United Way Day of Caring Committee. “The Day of Caring is an amazing opportunity for the volunteers to learn more about agencies in their community and see firsthand what they do to support countless individuals every day. The agencies, in turn, get some much-needed help and support for their tireless efforts in the KFL&A, which is a win-win for all involved.”
United Way Day of Caring has been running in the KFL&A community for more than 25 years. In that time, thousands of volunteer hours have been invested in hundreds of projects in the region.
This year, the day begins at 8 a.m. with a kick-off event (until 8:30 a.m.) at the Community Food Redistribution Warehouse (785 Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd.) Teams of volunteers will work throughout the morning and then gather at Lake Ontario Park (920 King Street W.) in the afternoon for a wrap-up BBQ.
Please note, a full list of projects and addresses is attached below to help plan coverage.
