Refugee Relief

City of Kingston, and United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington, working in partnership with Kingston Community Health Centres, KEYS, Community Foundation of Kingston & Area, County of Frontenac, County of Lennox & Addington, have set up a special emergency fund to support refugee resettlement in our community.

At this time no in-kind donations of food, clothing or furniture are being accepted.

The United Way will administer this fund with no administrative fee.  An advisory refugee coordinating committee will oversee the distribution of the funds collected to assist local initiatives.

Government Assisted Syrian Refugees

A fund has been established through the Community Foundation of Canada’s Welcome Fund for Syrian Refugees.  Funding applications for the Government Assisted Syrian Refugees can be downloaded here:

Thank you to community residents who open their hearts and wallets to welcome and support children and families fleeing conflict.

Financial donations are also accepted at the following locations (please mark the envelope or cheque clearly for “Refugee Relief Fund“) and provide your full name and mailing address for tax receipt purposes:

Please note, material donations are currently not being accepted for refugees. Whig Standard article.  However, there are a number of shelters and agencies locally that would welcome material donations:
