RMC Christmas Concert 
Officer Cadets start the Holiday Season off in support of United Way


KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 8, 2011) The band of the Royal Military College of Canada will present its annual Christmas Concert on Friday, November 18th, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. This performance will be held in the Cadet Formal Mess in Yeo Hall at the college.

Under the musical direction of Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Martin Huppé and Officer Cadet Dave Tanguay, guests will be delighted by the musical interpretations of “Cold Play on Stage”, a jazz arrangement of Beatles “Yesterday”, a great medley of Super Heroes theme songs, “Black Orpheus” from Luis Bonfa, sing-along Christmas songs and more diverse pieces composed by the Brass and Reeds, the Choir and the Stage Band.

“The RMC Band has been around since 1953,” said MWO Huppé, “Officer Cadets commit several hours to each performance, and this year’s Christmas Concert is sure to be very entertaining. Cadets are thrilled to play and be part of the event and help raise funds for the United Way Campaign.”

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door; children under 10 free admission. Tickets are limited and available at RMC’s Yeo Hall Canex and the United Way office, 417 Bagot Street. Proceeds to the United Way.

Established in 1941, United Way serving KFL&A has worked to strengthen lives by bringing together the financial resources of the community – business, labour, individuals and government – in support of a network of social service and health agencies. Through these agencies and their programs, people find help and in many cases opportunity for a better life. Over 74,000 people in KFL&A received help last year from a United Way funded service.
